The big fish get stupid during moon tides, that is when I fish.

Rates
375$ for full tide (6 hours)

About Captain:

Experience: Mate on The Viking star ship 05, Mate Fisherman 2, fall season 06; 3 years first mate on the Nicolemarie under legendary captain Jimmy George with his Secret Spoon.

ME: To be candid, I am not a proud man; I am fishing junkie with an ego problem. I have basically wasted a large part of my life in pursuit of Large Bass; I spent 1000's of  dollars and a lot of  time (I used spend days on end as a kid under the Triborough bridge fishing for stripers;) hunting big fish probably compensating for some other inadequacy. The upside of all this?: Whoever fishes with me is probably going to get a shot at a trophy fish. (40 pounds+) MY boat has seen close to 100, 40 pound plus bass over six years. Including: 2@45# 3@48# and 3@ fifty plus. A lot of the 40ish class s fish have been released. A lot kept. I use tight drags with mono, we get the fish in the boat quick and released quick. no galf or net used..see video clip

Ideal customer:
They are obsessed with catching a trophy Bass. He/she has lost a big fish once before, they consistently play what happened over and over again in the mind:what did I do wrong, what happened? : and they want a second chance. They wake up in January wondering when the tide will change on a specific day on a July full moon. If you think like this, I am your man.

Why I charter my boat:
I like to see the expression of peoples face when a big fish hits the deck. I like to see people catch the biggest fish they ever have. However, while I generally have a blast with customers, the main reason why a charter is I can't afford to fish alone, and as a licensed captain I am unable to accept gas money from friends, if you can believe it. Personally I love to fish a lone (less pressure) But at 125$ dollars a tide (more or less) it has become too tough to justify.

not for everyone
MY little operation is not for everyone. People who want to catch fish and have a nice time with friends on the water during the day; should book another, larger charter boat; there are plenty of great boats in Montauk that will always catch fish. I think you will have more fun on a bigger boat. I am not designed for bachelor parties. My boat is a beater but it is safe and fast. it is perfect for 2-3 people, and gets the job done.  If you are fanatical abut how nice a boat is I am not your guy. I am more interested in where the fish are and what , if anything they are chewing on. I see guys all the time floating around on beautiful 150,000$ Grady Whites; but if the fish are not there, they are not having fun. A boat is just platform to catch fish off of.

I short, I am ideal for the hard core Striperholic/bass junkie. So leave your friends at home and lets go get a big one!

Note:
I ask that you do not drink, I have found nothing drops peoples ambission like a few  beers. We usually have 20-30 fish nights. there is no time to drink. If the fishing is anything like it was last year you will be catching fish! I have no problem with catch and release. I have a great camera, take a pick and watch the fish swim away.

Do to the fact that I move around a lot to find the fish, If you have a problem with sea sickness or long hours on the water, I am probably not your guy.

*Recently I have gotten in to spear fishing; it is great! MY friend shot a 52 pounder of my boat last year. You don’t have to be a great diver, sometimes the fish are in 15 feet of water.
